I’ve been asked if I will sell digital files of my invitation designs. I have thought about this… a lot. I could probably have a pretty good business selling digital files that could be printed by the customer or a local quick print shop.
But, that would not be my work, my design, my product. So? I’m not going to do that. Not today. Maybe someday, but not today.
I take delight in seeing the printed pieces roll out of my printer, I love trimming and assembling and packing my wedding invitations. But, most of all, I love tweaking the colors as they are printed; I alter a percentage, an opacity, even change a color. This is what makes each wedding invitation suite MINE, as well as the bride’s.
So, maybe one day I’ll sell digital files, but not today.
